About Grindley Studios, LLC
Grindley Studios, LLC is an award winning independent film company founded by John J. Wisniewski in 2004. Based in southeast Michigan and showcasing the talents of one of the area’s very best production teams, Grindley currently specializes in short narrative entertainment films. We also offer full-spectrum production services to private and commercial clients and plan to resume feature length production in late 2014.
About John Wisniewski
Wisniewski began his career in film with a 1960 Sears Vincent Price Movie Maker Outfit, an addiction to movie matinee TV programs and a special love of films made in the epic, fantasy, horror, adventure and sci-fi genres. After cranking out dozens of 8 mm celluloid wonders, he eventually put his camera in the closet and pursued a successful career in healthcare, culminating in stints as an Associate Professor of Medicine, an Associate Dean and Medical Director and a nationally recognized expert and consultant in continuing professional education and healthcare quality improvement.
Although Wisniewski’s patients and students always came first, film was never far from his thoughts, and he continued to dabble in the field. Fortunate enough to afford an early retirement, he decided to pursue his passion on a full time basis and founded Grindley Studios in 2004. After filming a series of practice shorts and two features, he completed a year of study at the Motion Picture Institute of Michigan, polished his skills, and went on to assemble an award-winning group of talented filmmakers, now considered one of the area’s best professional production teams. Dayplanner of the Dead is our latest commercial offering. We hope you enjoy it.
